I arrived at the airport at about 6:30, said goodbye to my mom and waited. I was really excited, my first trip to the UK, a place I’ve always wanted to go. When we get off the plane and we had finally arrived. The whole group was exhausted, but we had a great first day in London. The bus tour of the city was a really great way to start the trip. We saw a lot of touristy sites, but our first stop was Buckingham Palace. It was amazing to see up close. A place I’ve heard about and seen on TV, to see one of the most iconic buildings in the world was so cool. From there the bus showed us around Westminster, Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, 10 Downing Street, the London Bridge and much much more. From there we moved to the City of London, which I had no idea they were two separate things. After that, we explored the Tower of London. So much to see and do there. My personal favorite thing was the crown jewels. Things I’ve seen on The Crown, and have been interested in were a foot in front of me. The fortress has been there since 1066 and has done so many different things, from being a place of torture, to print money, now it is a huge tourist attraction. After heading to the hotel and settling in we headed off to dinner. A standard fish and chips meal was provided. Even though I don’t eas seafood I had chicken, which was very good. Overall this was a great first day and a great mood to start the trip on.
