My Birthday at Windsor: Day 5

Windsor Castle

We woke up early the next morning and left for the city of Windsor where we took a tour of the little town before heading into the castle. The castle itself was very beautiful and very elaborate.

The Windsor Castle is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire. It is notable for its long association with the English and later British royal family. The original castle was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion of England by William the Conqueror.

We were able to take a tour of the historical part of the castle, which was filled with many old relics, paintings, and items that belonged to past royalty. I found the tour to be very interesting and full of amazing historical facts.

I have always had a strong interest in royalty, so being able to visit a castle that has so much history and tradition within its walls is unbelievable when you think about it.

St. Geroge’s Chapel

After the tour of Windsor Castle, I was able to walk into St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in England and is a chapel designed in the high-medieval Gothic style. It is both a Royal Peculiar, a church under the direct jurisdiction of the monarch, and the Chapel of the Order of the Garter. It is also the Chaple that Price Harry and Meghan Merkle were married in last May.

After touring the area, we walked to the Duchess of Cambridge, a little cafe in the town where we sat down for lunch before heading out to Stradford.

Arrival at Stradford and a Birthday Surprise

When we finally arrived in Stradford and settling into our hotel, we took a short walk over The Tavern for dinner. Dinner was going well great but got even better when dessert was served. I was given a cute little brownie dessert with a small little pink candle on top, and everyone sang to me for my birthday.

If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be celebrating my 21 birthday at Windsor and then Stratford-upon-Avon, I wouldn’t have believed them. Obviously, 21 is a memorable birthday, but the fact that I got to spend it in a different country and at a Castle, made it even more memorable. I couldn’t be more blessed, thank you.
