We left our hotel in London early this morning and took an hour and a half coach ride to Windsor. Luckily I was able to sleep a little bit on the bus so I was ready to tour Windsor Castle!
We had a tour guide lead us through a shopping center in Windsor, just outside the castle. He was able to give us some interesting history about Windsor and tell us about the rooms we would walk through in the castle.
Fun fact about being in Windsor today, the Queen has been staying at Windsor Castle since the beginning of this month. She was also there to present Prince Harry and Meghan’s baby boy, Archie, to the public.
One of the most exciting things about touring Windsor Castle was the fact that the first photos of Harry, Meghan, and Archie together were taken in St. George’s Hall at Windsor Castle just 2 days ago, and that was one of the rooms we were able to walk through!
After finishing our audio tour through Windsor Castle, we walked to St. George’s Chapel, which is where Prince Harry and Meghan got married. I was assuming it to be really big inside, but it was much smaller than I was anticipating. It was really cool to stand exactly where the royal wedding took place.
After finishing our tour at Windsor Castle and through St. George’s Chapel, we walked down the street to a pub called the Duchess of Cambridge, dedicated to Kate Middleton when she married Prince William.
After lunch, we explored Windsor for a few more minutes until getting back on our coach and heading to Stratford-Upon-Avon. The drive was a little over 2 hours long, but our route took us through the countryside, so we got to see lots of sheep and the English country hills.
We checked into our hotel and headed out to a pub for a group dinner, which was really good! We also celebrated Anna’s birthday today!
Our plan for tomorrow includes a tour of Shakespeare’s birthplace and surrounding areas here in Stratford-Upon-Avon. After our tour, we head up to Liverpool for a few days!
