We started taking students abroad in 2008 and chose London as our first destination to introduce our students to one of the largest media cities in the world and a cultural experience not to be missed. Twelve trips later, we’re heading back to that great city and exploring more of the country in our fourth trip there.
I am eager to experience London again, and I am so looking forward to visiting Stratford, Liverpool, Manchester and Edinburgh, Scotland. The mix of media and cultural visits are once again amazing, thanks to the marvelous Jan Getz who takes our wish list and makes magic happen for our students.
Throughout the spring semester we learned as much as we could about the media, politics (especially Brexit), economy, history and culture of the UK. I can’t thank our guest speakers enough for their help in preparing us and the students for their great research and presentations. Now we know the professors, media and communication professionals, and tour guides we will meet will teach us so much more. We’ll write about our explorations daily, so please read and follow our adventures.
