Waking up in Edinburgh was awesome. The old city’s architecture was so incredible but we had our last media day to take care of with a marketing director of the Fringe Festival. The Fringe Festival is one of the largest festival in the world and occurs 250 times across the world.
Olly Davis came to talk to us about his role with the festival and it was incredible to see how much of a wide variety the festival included. They are able to incorporate thousands of acts into the festival over an insane variation of acts. Its remarkable to me that he is able to market the festival to so many people by promoting the events idea of acceptance and equality.
After our first meeting we walk across town to go to another agency called Whitespace and met with David Anderson and Chris Davey to discuss some of their recent projects. They told us all about there recent trip to Oslo to work on a marketing project for a whiskey company.
It was remarkable to hear a photographers point of view because everything we’ve heard over the trip was from the Public Relation teams that would assign these guys the project and then move on to the next one. With David he was able to explain to us he was never excited working with the team he was sent. As a Pr person I felt like this was a problem but one that could easily be fixed with a little team work and collaboration teams can be made much more workable.
With our media visits done for the day we had a chance to walk around a little more exploring Edinburgh and gettign ready for a free night into a free day tomorrow. .
