We are on our way to Manchester! Another beautiful day. we arrived at Media City UK and entered the University of Salford. Dr. Annabell Waller showed us around the University that had amazing equipment, studios, and so much more. Even though this was just a branch of the University that wasn’t too far away, it had great spaces. Media City itself was awesome. People with dogs and sunbathing around their workplaces. Seemed like a really cool place to work and be involved with.
After the tour, Dr. Waller then brought us to a room for her lecture on virtual reality that was really interesting to learn about. After she spoke, James Probert producer for an adventure kids shows Blue Peter on the BBC showed us some of his work. He gets to travel around and do insane things with one of the hosts on the show. He produces, writes, directs and even edits some of the pieces.
After this was lunch time, but I was really looking forward to the BBC tour. Obviously, almost everyone in the world is familiar with the BBC. They took us on an amazing tour showing us some really cool stuff. I loved seeing the studios and how versatile they were. Seeing a radio studio where so many iconic artists have performed or had been interviewed was cool to see.
The tour was very fun, and the tour guides made it even better. I was pretty sad to leave, but we headed off to the hotel to prepare for the final leg of our trip.
