Day 9: Ayy Secuurittyyyy.

Today we left Manchester England for Edinburgh Scotland. We got up early and went straight to the airport that was essentially next door. For some reason we all struggled to get through this airport, Manchester Airport security sucks.

We all got flagged down and had to get searched for the most minor of things. We were never told we had to separate our liquid and solid toiletries, some people and I got pulled aside to get sorted through. After that we put everything on the security belt to go through the X-ray machines and bang my bag get separated and pulled aside to get searched.

Immediately I knew I had forgotten my Nintendo Switch in my backpack so I told the security officer that and I also had my game-boy that I had to tell them about. So I had forgotten a few electronic they had to scan again and then they sent me on my way. Just going through security and getting stopped is always a nerve wrecking experience and the fact so many of us were pulled aside just made it uncomfortable for us all in the group.

After an intense security check we were off to Edinburgh. It was only a hour flight so we go there pretty quickly. In hindsight it would have been better to just stay on the bus to Scotland, a 4 hour drive in more than do-able and I would have loved to experience the country side some more.

We landed in Edinburgh and immediately went into town. Our hotel was so adorable and was in the perfect location. It was situated at the bottom of the Edinburgh Castle. We got our rooms and then went to take a tour of the castle grounds.

The castle was incredible to walk through. Being on top of the hill gave us such a beautiful panorama of the city. Also walking down the ancient streets of the castle was amazing. I Love medieval history so this castle hit all the interesting points. From the old church on the bottom to the trebuchet in the war rooms Edinburgh Castle was a true gem to experience.
