Edinburgh Day 3: The Ghost Realm

Today is our final day in Scotland, and the last day of our trip, which is upsetting, to say the least. It certainly has been a bittersweet day.

I took the morning as a self-care day because I desperately needed to recharge after roughly two weeks of pretending to be an extrovert. I took some much needed “me time,” which included an extra hour of sleep, a nice, hot shower, and a face mask. If there is anything I have learned in my time at college, it is that self-care is of the utmost importance and that it is important to listen to my body.

After my relaxing morning, I took a nice stroll through the surrounding areas of the hotel. Following my walk, I found my way to a wee little pub up the street from the hotel, where I got  a lot of homework done, planned for the days following my return home, and enjoyed a delicious grilled cheese, along with a tasty cocktail named after Prince’s hit, “Purple Rain.” I am so glad that I listened to my body and took this time for myself, it was honestly a relief to have some time alone. When Ariana Grande said, “This is for everybody, babe, you gotta take care of your body, yuh yuh, ain’t no time to deny it, that is why we talking about it,” I felt that.

After spending most of the day recharging, I feel prepared to heavily socialize for the remainder of our last night in Scotland. We have a farewell dinner planned at an Italian restaurant that is making drool just thinking about it (sister loves her Italian food). After dinner, we will be going on a ghost tour, and I honestly do not know what to expect. Wish me luck, but if the ghosts take me, tell my family I love them.

Update: I am alive and well, we did not come across any ghost… I would still appreciate it if someone told my family that I love them!!!
