Edinburgh: International Man of Mystery

Today we left Manchester and jetted off to Edinburgh, Scotland for the final days of our travels. I must say, the Manchester Airport is honestly a nightmare. Perhaps it was the lack of sleep, but I felt like I was in a different dimension.

The flight was short, and before I knew it we were in Scotland.  It’s such a strange concept,  being able to fly to a different country so easily. That definitely adds a major appeal to Europe, I really don’t want to leave!

We arrived in Edinburgh and checked into our hotel, the Grassmarket Inn. The hotel itself is absolutely adorable, but the layout is like a maze. I kept getting lost trying to get to my floor today.

After we were checked in and set down our stuff, we headed to the  Edinburgh Castle, with plans to do a walking tour of the city after our castle tour. We had to walk a bunch of awful flights of stairs, which wasn’t fun by any means, but the view was absolutely worth it. I looked over the edge by the castles and the view was truly breathtaking. Scotland is truly the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life, and to think I only saw one city. There’s so much greenery, the way the city is built is so unique, and there is so much history everywhere you turn. Being in the city that served as so much inspiration for the Harry Potter series was so interesting, and my whole family was so jealous. I can’t believe we stayed on the street that inspired Diagon Alley!

I’m looking forward to the rest of our time spent here.
