Day 4: Media visits At Hearst

Today’s visit was to the Hearst agency and this place was a huge modern office settings and full of publications that are read across the world.

It was amazing to see the amount of data that these places use and are exposed to. Much of the analytics the team processes are used and put towards improving different products across the board

It was a pleasant surprise to how accepting of the criticism a lot of the companies are. These companies pay close attention to how Hearst tests their products and the results that they receive. They seem to know the influence they have on consumers and the market so putting the stamp of approval on a product usually means it’s does what it’s supposed to do with no defects.

it was also amazing to see how much Hearst tests the products and may give the benefit of the doubt to companies. They explained if a test wasn’t positive then they would contact the company and try to make sure they weren’t given anything faulty or if it was maybe an outlier of their product.

As we moved through the agency we were shown what a modern office might be looking like. I loved the idea of not being stuck in one spot all the time and the freedoms they give you to work around the offices. The “war rooms” they had were extremely packed together which would be hard me to focus on one thing with so much happening around you.

After the the visit to the Hearst UK, we had some free time so naturally I hiked to the nearest soccer store in SOHO and stocked up on Chelsea FC gear.
