Day #6: Stratford & Shakespeare

We spent today in Stratford Upon Avon.  We had a walking tour about Shakespeare to start the day.  We saw the Royal Shakespeare Company theater, the church where he was interred and baptized, his grammar school and the home where he was born.

The walk was beautiful and it was a nice quaint little town and our guide along the way was really good.

The church where Shakespeare was believed to be baptized and where he is interred… and apparently he is resting for eternity without his head?

The house was small but set up to look like it would have when Shakespeare lived here. Because his mother was from money and his father was successful, they had numerous tapestries hanging on their walls and had other comforts that many of their class would not have had at that time.

The room where Shakespeare was born. His parents bed and a child’s cot.

Had lunch with Jan, Helen & Cheryl in a cute tearoom then did a little shopping.  Mid afternoon we boarded the bus to Liverpool.  In Liverpool we had a rather LONG walk to dinner.

The Greek spread was extensive to say the least! SO much food, but it was delicious.
