Had a good (filling) breakfast at the hotel and then we were off to our first media visit. A lecture on the landscape of media in the UK presented by Jason MacKenzie.
He was really good! He kept the students (and all of us faculty) engaged as we discussed various topics pertaining to UK media.
After a quick lunch on campus, we had a free afternoon. After a few metro missteps (making the wrong choice on which spot to transfer), I made my way to the Victoria & Albert Museum. I had less than 2 hours to spend there, but it was free and my visit was just the right amount of time for me.
I enjoyed it. The museum featured a collection of objects from all over the world in a range of categories.
I particularly enjoyed the ceramics (lots of different types of china, vases, figures etc). The craziest was a really odd fish dish.
The jewelry collection (see Victoria’s Tiara above!) and Prince Albert’s Library were also amazing.
Wrapped up with dinner at an English pub.
