We woke up bright and late… well actually I woke up way too early for someone who went out the night before. But I was going to go on this morning hike with David, Emma and a bunch of other people. But at the last minute, backed out because I knew I would’ve passed out if I ended up on top of a mountain on one of the hottest days.
An important note here… I woke up to a gigantic spider on my curtain that I caught. Let’s just say I don’t know what happened to it after I left it under the mug in the room. But the cleaning lady definitely handled it, she probably killed it… I don’t consent to it but moving on.
So I basically met up with the children around 10am and went back to bed until probably 1pm. I then decided to go to the red art gallery on daigon alley to buy some art for my two closest friends.
Then it was time to eat. I met up with Lexi at Albas Bistro which was a few doors down from our lovely hotel. I got a pizza with fries whilst she wrote her blogs. It was such a nice day and I decided to call my father for a minute just to catch up with him.
We went back to the hotel to get ready to go to our “team meeting”? We had to be ready by 4.15 to have our meeting at 4.30 at the building where we heard about the Fringe festival.
We then discussed three things: what we loved about the Manchester visits, the Edinburgh visits and what we loved overall. This was when things started getting bittersweet because it was the last full day that we’d be spending together and everyone got along really well even though we didn’t know each other to begin with.
So from that meeting we headed back to the hotel to grab jackets for the ghost tour and headed to our 6pm dinner. A lot of us had gnocchi that a bit dry but nonetheless, we had a great time drinking wine and just spending time together.
Then from dinner, we went on the ghost tour which was honestly one of my favorite tours because Jane (the guide) was so enthusiastic and a grand story teller in general. She guided us through some of the closes on the mile, Craig and Diego got whipped and we continued onto the underground portion of the tour.
This part was my favorite because she kept telling the stories as we walked into different rooms and the nonfiction story was the creepiest for sure. She blew out her candle for a portion of it which made me feel like somebody was watching but anyway, the tour was so worth it and Jane was amazing.
From here we proceeded back to the hotel and I basically passed out two different times. I was going to pack my things since it was the last night and I didn’t want to wake up super early. I ended up passing out and then waking up just to shower and change and go right back to sleep.
This was the last full day in Edinburgh
