Fortunately we were only in that maze of a hotel for one night. We checked out of the hotel in the morning and went on a tour of Shakespeare’s birthplace near our hotel. We saw things like the school he attended when he was younger, the church he was buried in, and of course the house in which he was born. This tour was interesting even though I’m not the biggest Shakespeare fan. After the tour I went to a cafe called Hobson’s Patisseries. I got mac and cheese that had croutons and halved cherry tomatoes on it; I had never seen that topping on mac and cheese before and although I probably wouldn’t order it again it was delicious nonetheless.
I did some more shopping and Maddy and I got lost yet again trying to find the Holy Trinity Church so that we could go inside, but we got there eventually and had a nice walk on a sunny day in the process. We then went back to the hotel to get our belongings and get on the bus to Liverpool.
After another long bus ride we arrived in what became my favorite city of the trip. We had a group dinner at a Greek restaurant that night that felt as though it was several thousand miles away from the hotel. It was worth the long walk, however; I have never seen that much food in one place before and I basically had to roll out of there after we were finished. I was ready to go to sleep after this meal but decided to enjoy the local nightlife with some friends I had made in our group, a decision I definitely did not regret. It was a fun night of dancing and when I finally got into my bed that night, I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
