We met early in the morning and made our way to the French embassy to learn about the Fringe Festival. The Fringe is an awesome organization that puts on performances for three weeks. It’s a street festival that hosts thousands of actors and associated talents, giving them a stage to perform. there are many venues that host these performances, all situated around the city. There are also 250 other Fringe Festivals all over the world. A big thing that the Fringe is currently working on is making the festival accessible. they have made great strides in including all in the festival, but Oliver said there is still much work to do.
After that, we headed over to Whitespace where we met Chris Davey a head creator, then David Anderson who is a freelance photographer. Christ and Davis worked on a Shackleton Whiskey campaign, where they got to shoot in Norway, pretty far away from civilization in a pristine white place, that turned into an amazing background for this campaign. They were really interesting to learn from, they talked about the good and the bad, working with influencers, and how they travel with all their gear. I learned that clients really let the creative team have a lot of range on projects, and trust they come up with good content.
With our last media visit coming to an end, I am excited to explore tomorrow, but not excited to leave soon after. These media visits have taught me a lot, and every place we visit should expect some application from Point Park graduates.
