To say tired is, well an understatement. After a very fun drive from London to Windsor, we finally made it. I have never seen pictures of this town, but it is absolutely amazing. It looks like its right out of a movie.
We got off the bus and met up with our amazing tour guide, Simon, who showed us through the town. The castle sits on 13 acres and has 900, yes 900 rooms. It was also built in the 11th century which makes it look very Game of Thrones.
We walked through the State Apartments, got to see replicas of where the king and queen would have slept, and saw amazing art. Every detail about the castle was gorgeous, the crown molding, the wallpaper, the chandeliers. We could also view Her Royal Heinesses Private Apartments, that I have seen many times on The Crown. Somewhere in the palace, the Queen could have been eating lunch, or petting one of her corgies.
It was really exciting to see this amazing architecture up close, after we made our way through the castle we headed to the gift shop where I may have spent a bit too much money.
After that it was time for lunch, the Duchess of Cambridge restaurant had a long wait so we ended up getting Nandos, again, but I wasn’t complaining. We then explored for a bit and ended up back in front of the palace on a bench where I took a short nap till we were off to Stratford upon Avon, where William Shakespeare was born.
