Reflection on the Past Weeks
Upon arriving at the airport, we learned that our flight was going to be delayed by a few hours. After doing some shopping around, I decided to sit down with a coffee, look through my pictures, and just reflect on the past weeks.
Honestly, the last thirteen days felt like a crazy dream. It was wild to think that a few months ago I was just going through my daily routine with school, work, and hanging out with friends now I’m sitting in an airport in England, getting ready to head back to the states.
Before this trip, I have never left the country, and to be able to have traveled to so many different places during the last few days felt incredibly liberating. Sometimes it’s just nice to change up the routine once and a while.
I was a bit nervous coming on the trip because I really didn’t know that many people, but I can honestly say that I’ve made some fantastic friends. I probably would have never known Taylor and Kari before going on this trip, and Maddie–who’s going to be one of my roommates next year–and I found out that we had more in common than we thought.
Obviously, I was beyond excited for all the adventures that laid ahead, but I didn’t expect to have the experience that I did. Going to new countries and making new friends just added to the experience.
While it’s bittersweet sitting in the airport about to depart for the States, I feel more inspired than ever to get back to working hard at my career, and I am confident that I will make it back to these amazing places one day.
I would also like to thank everyone that made this trip possible. More and more, I am so happy with my decision to pursue my degree at Point Park because it opened the door to many opportunities that I wouldn’t have dreamed of being possible. Thank you again for the amazing opportunities; it was truly a trip of a lifetime.
