Day 7: Mother’s day in Liverpool

I’d like to start by saying happy Mother’s Day! Liverpool was so pretty, it reminded me a lot of Pittsburgh as it is an industrial city on the coast. We had the morning free so we naturally we had a late start to the day. We Gravitated to a brunch restaurant nearby the hotel we were staying at.

It was awesome to see all the Liverpool FC fans walking around. It felt like the town had a sea of red flowing through it as the residents got ready for the English Premier league game where they had a chance to win the league title. It was an exciting atmosphere to be around, me being me and loving soccer I was ecstatic to be in that environment.

Our first meeting for the day was for a 3 hour Beatles tour through Liverpool. When I was first told about it I didn’t know what to think. I’ve never been a huge fan of them or know much of their music. To me it was a generational gap between their hardcore fans and today’s listeners.

I was under the impression we were going to do a museum or something along those line…and NOPE! Man was I wrong. Instead we were crammed into a defected bus with no air condition and dragged around Liverpool to various locations the Beatles had lived and been to. This wasn’t really anything I cared to much about. The only part I had found interesting was the concert hall they had first performed at.
