Hello! My name is Angela Altieri and I am a senior public relations and advertising major with a psychology minor. Within public relations I love to work on research which lends itself to a love of understanding people and the world around me. This then leads me to my main reason for wanting to go abroad; to be able to have a better understanding of people who are so similar to Americans, yet so different.
I am fascinated with the fact that most people lump together the United Kingdom and the United States while they are actually not super similar. I am looking forward to getting up close and personal with people and places that I am not familiar with as a way to get outside of myself at least a little.
On top of (or in conjunction to) this love of learning, I just love to travel. While I appreciate Pittsburgh, it is also exciting to get out of the place I’ve always lived. I love flying as well, being in the airport is always an exciting time and I love the hustle and bustle of it.
That being said, I cannot sleep on airplanes so I am a little stressed about the amount of time/the fact the flight is a redeye so I am hoping I can catch a little bit of sleep.
I am looking forward to the long plane ride though because it will give me time to study for my LSAT which I am taking in early June – another stressful situation but this flight will be a great opportunity to force myself to sit there and study.
